College Facilities
The College Campus is made up of three buildings. Courses are scheduled across the three buildings; however certain courses are housed in specific buildings as follows:
Administration Offices
There are two administration offices in BCFE – one located in the Main Building and one in the Arts Building; students in the Media Building should access the office in the Main Building. Both offices are open for student queries from 9.00- 1.00pm and 2.00 – 3.30pm daily. All student forms (e.g., Social Welfare, Grant Forms etc.) and requests for letters must be left in either the Main office, or the Arts building office, in person two days in advance. Student ID cards must be presented when collecting forms and/or letters.
BCFE Student ID Cards
You will be issued with the instructions to create your own virtual ISIC student card when you are a fully registered student in BCFE. This International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is recognised as accepted proof of your student status both nationally and internationally. This ID card gives you access to a diverse selection of benefits and discounts around the world. Refer to isic.ie for the full list of benefits.
City of Dublin FET College student ID card is the International Student Identity Card (ISIC). This is free for registered learners in 2024/25 (normal cost is €17)
- Consent Complete the data sharing consent form, agreeing to let the college share your name, date of birth and college email address with ISIC so that they can issue your student ID card.
- Email Invitation You’ll receive an email to your college email address from cdetb@isic.ie with a registration links. Don’t forget to check your junk mail / spam folder. This email will include your ISIC card number, e.g. S123 456 789012 X
- Download App Download the ISIC App via App Store or Google Play Store. Use your student name and ISIC card number to create digital card
- Upload Photo Upload photo in profile section of the app, The photo must be a passport style photo.
- Look directly at the camera so that your head and shoulders are in the centre and your face is visible.
- Take the photo against a blank background
- Do not wear sunglasses, hats or caps
- Make sure your hair does not cover your eyes or face
- Apply for your plastic card You’ll receive a second email from cdetb@isic.ie to register for the physical card. Follow the instructions in the email. Collect your card from your college.

Canteen Facilities
BCFE canteen facilities are provided by Coffeecup catering in both the Main and Arts buildings; opening hours are from 8.30 am to 2pm Monday to Friday. Students based in the Media Building access the canteen facilities in the Main Building. Payment in the canteen is via contactless payment. There are vending machines (drinks and snacks) available in all three buildings.
Car Park
The car park in the Arts Building is reserved for staff, visitors and students with disabilities. All other students can park in the car park in front of the Main and Media Buildings.
Lockers
A limited number of lockers are available for students to use during the academic year in the Arts and the Main buildings. Lockers are allocated on a first-come-first- served basis by the Porter in each building.
Lost Property
Enquiries about lost property should be directed to the Porter’s desk at the main entrance of each building.
Photocopiers
Two photocopiers for student use are located outside the staff room in the Main Building and outside the Student Resource Room in the Arts Building. Students based in the Media building can access the photocopier in the Main Building. Cards with a set allowance for photocopying (at a cost of €2) are available from the administration office in the Main Building and the Porter’s office in the Arts Building.
Stationary & Art Materials
A selection of art materials is available for purchase throughout the academic year in the Art Department’s Technician’s (Cathy Gissane) office in the Arts Building beside Studio 1. The process for purchasing these materials will be online and information about this process will be given to all art students at induction.
Student Phones
While in class, students are requested to have their phones on silent at all times and are asked not to record or post to social media without permission. No phone calls/messages can be taken in the office for students.
