Gender Identity

Ballyfermot College of Further Education (BCFE) is committed to fostering a supportive, fair, and inclusive workplace where all the college community are treated with dignity and respect. This includes creating a welcoming and safe environment for all, regardless of gender identity or expression.

Students can alert their course co-ordinator to a preferred forename and/or surname.  This will be recorded on BCFE’s Student Management Database Systems (VSware) in brackets beside their birth name.

If a student wishes to officially change their name and/or gender on BCFE’s data systems and for Certification purposes the following official documents will be needed.

• Deed Pole document for name change
• Gender Recognition Certificate for gender change

Spunout Wellbeing Academy

 The spunout Wellbeing Academy is an online course on the IBM SkillsBuild platform. The content was designed based on information from the spunout website, written by our content team, and fact-checked by experts in each area. The academy breaks the content down into short, engaging, bite-sized sections with quizzes, videos, and reflection activities.

You can sign up for the Spunout Wellbeing Academy through this link. All the content on the platform is free to complete and there are loads of other courses available on a wide range of topics.
